SUMMARY:Unitive Cluster HLPF Side event
DESCRIPTION:The Power of Vision: Advancing integrated and Interconnected Development\nA transformative vision allows development efforts to move beyond short-term solutions toward meaningful\, long-term impact. At its core\, development is about people. Lasting progress depends on human transformation—shifts in consciousness\, values\, attitudes\, and behaviors that support shared well-being. Equally important is integrating the natural world into all development efforts\, ensuring flourishing is an embedded value rather than an afterthought. This approach is grounded in a unitive perspective\, recognizing the indivisibility of economic\, social\, and environmental goals. \nThis interactive hybrid session will explore the power of shared vision\, which ultimately fosters a sense of common destiny\, a strong basis for SDG 17 since it supports collaboration over competition as well as inclusive\, equitable development of cultures that leave no one behind. \nSpeakers:\nAlfredo Sfeir Younis\, Former Director of World Bank\, Environmental Economist \nYoussef Mahmoud\, Former UN Under Secretary General \nAudrey Kitagawa\, Founder\, International Academy for Multicultural Cooperation \nRegister: https://bit.ly/hlpfvision

SUMMARY:World Interfaith Harmony Week event
DESCRIPTION:This initiative\, which started in 2007\, called for religious leaders to engage in a dialogue based on two common fundamental religious Commandments; Love of God\, and Love of the Neighbour\, without nevertheless compromising any of their own religious tenets. The Two commandments are at the heart of the three Monotheistic religions and therefore provide the most solid theological ground possible. This formula includes all people of goodwill\, including those of other faiths\, and those with no faith. \nIt is hoped that this initiative will provide a focal point from which all people of goodwill can recognize that the common values they hold far outweigh the differences they have\, and thus provide a strong dosage of peace and harmony to their communities. \nprayers |  meditations  | panel discussion  | open dialogue  |  music  |  and more \nTillman Chapel of the Church Center of the UN \n777 UN Plaza\, 44th Street\, NY\, USA

SUMMARY:Unitive Principles in Action: Transforming Partnerships\, Equality\, and Innovation - A ECOSOC Partnership Forum side event
DESCRIPTION:As the world struggles to meet the 2030 Agenda\, it has become increasingly clear that siloed approaches to the 17 SDGs are insufficient. This participatory online workshop explores how unitive principles—recognizing the inherent interconnectedness of people\, place & planet—offer a transformative foundation for sustainable\, equitable & innovative action\, with particular emphasis on SDG 17. \nParticipants will engage with 3 successful real-world initiatives that intentionally place unitive principles at the core of their design and implementation\, and have demonstrated how unitive principles support collaborative\, equitable\, innovative & coordinated actions. These case studies demonstrate measurable outcomes achieved through a “unitive principles-first” approach—showing how projects grounded in explicit values generate greater coherence\, sustainability\, and impact and accelerate transformation. \nThrough dialogue\, reflection\, and practical examples\, participants will gain insights into how unitive principles can be activated in their own work—moving beyond fragmented solutions toward integrated\, principle-driven responses to global challenges. \nEvent co-organized by the Unitive Cluster within the NGO Major Groups at the UN and the Brahma Kumaris. \nClick here to join on Tuesday\, January 27 at 1:15pm ET. \nLearn more about the Forum here.
