International Day of Yoga Community Events

Many NGOs and Yoga Organizations arranged community events to celebrate the International Day of Yoga (IDY) and the Brahma Kumaris were invited to participate in few of them. Below is a summary of what took place.

Yoga and Meditation

The American India Public Affairs Committee and the Hindu Swayamsevak Society co-hosted this event held at the Asamai Temple on Sunday, June 18 in Long Island, New York.  The Brahma Kumaris were invited to share for thirty minutes on ‘Raja Yoga in Daily Life.’  BK Sabita shared on the spiritual trajectory – the impact of thoughts on our attitude which impacts our vision and actions. Being aware of this helps one to improve their quality of interaction and relationships. The session ended with 6 minutes of meditation. Other participating groups included The Arts of Living Int’l, American Indian Association, RANA Yoga.
