Preparing for COP26: An interfaith consultation

UN Church Center
Monday March 2 a meeting was held organized by the Committee of Religious NGOs (CRNGOs) at the United Nations called “Preparing for COP26: An interfaith consultation”
BK Julia Grindon-Welch, BK UN Representative and the newly appointed Vice-Chair of CRNGOs, was one of four panelists. The aim was to share basic information about the Climate Change Conferences (COPs), to report back on COP25 (Madrid 2019) and brainstorm on a New York-based strategy ahead of COP26 (to be held in Glasgow, UK later this year) that complements the existing Interfaith Liaison Committee that unites the faith-based presence during COPs.

BK Julia presented on the Interfaith Liaison Committee of which the Brahma Kumaris are co-chair (led by BK Valerianne).
The most significant outcome was the enthusiastic affirmation for a formation of a climate working group which is to facilitate effective participation and collaboration among us New York-based representatives to climate issues and the COP processes.
