Who We Are

As a global NGO with consultative status at the UN, the Brahma Kumaris see this time as a pivotal moment where an old era meets a new beginning. We bring our spiritual wisdom to the UN’s work, particularly in advancing the Sustainable Development Agenda. Our contributions focus on reducing poverty and hunger with a foundation in spiritual prosperity, nurturing the inclusive and caring nature of both men and women, and supporting youth as they renew and shape the future we all aspire to.

Spiritual Trajectory

To create meaningful change, we must move upstream of laws and policies that govern actions and instead focus on the source: our awareness. By shifting awareness, we can reshape attitudes, visions, and actions on a global scale.

This spiritual trajectory is values-neutral. The way one chooses to apply this can have either positive or negative outcomes.

Whether the global future is bright or dark, or whether the path is filled with misery or hope, depends on individual or collective choice.

Spiritually Speaking

Invitation into deeper understanding

Be inspired by voices of wisdom who call on us to reconsider purpose, to reform perspectives, and to reignite practices with the aim of living in harmony and peace with people and planet. Their insights create thought provoking ripples on current issues as they delve into a shift in consciousness that is required to change the direction, we seem to be heading in.

Meditation

We share wisdom to collectively reinforce the elevated levels of awareness we will need to support a deeper dimension of transformation in the global UN community.

Working in Partnership

We work with individuals and groups at UN Headquarters and in the field, who share our interest in understanding inner states of awareness and attitude in order to shift the actions being taken in the world. We also serve on committees, support campaigns, and collaborate with networks.

Participation in UN Events

We participate in various UN conferences through written and oral statements, organizing events, workshops and exhibitions.  We also co-sponsor events with UN agencies and missions, thus offering our expertise to the UN’s secular issues.
