Beyond 2030: Consciousness, Science, and Spirit for An Ethical Future

A rich, engaging, and enlightening conversation led by four outstanding and distinguished speakers; a High Level Political Forum (HLPF) hybrid side event co-organized by the NGO Committee on Spirituality, Values, and Global Concerns-NY and The Brahma Kumaris at the UN. The event was held on Thursday, July 17 at the Brahma Kumaris Office at the UN.

We were honored to have Ambassador Anwarul Chowdhury, Former Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the UN, share a few opening remarks in which he expressed interest for the next Secretary General of the UN to be a woman!! This we all know would need a shift in consciousness.

Moderator Ramu Damodaran, Permanent Observer to the University of Peace to the UN, beautifully facilitated the discussion among the speakers and the participants to bring out the depth, clarity, and simplicity of these complex ideas of how consciousness and science are interconnected.

The presenters included:

Dr. Will Keepin, a mathematical physicist and co-founder of Satyana Institute and the Gender Reconciliation International project.

BK Gayatri Naraine, Main representative of The Brahma Kumaris at the UN and Vice-chair of the International Yoga Day Committee at the UN.

Grant Storry, a philosopher-builder: a regenerative technologist, systems healer, and storyteller working at the nexus of consciousness, culture, and emerging technologies.

The theme for the HLPF 2025 is, “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind”. The SDGs reviewed in-depth are Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 14 (Life Below Water) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The event was brought to a serene closing with the sacred music of the harp performed by Kyoko Kimura, Certified Healing Harpist.
