Our contribution to COP17 is guided by the following commitment:
At COP17 in Armenia, the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual Organization commits to taking action for nature through spiritual regeneration and values-based living. Inspired by the butterfly—a symbol of harmony with nature, transformative change and the power of small actions—we encourage individuals and communities to move from inner peace to conscious action. Through daily choices rooted in peace, love, purity and respect, we aim to contribute to the implementation of the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). We believe that when souls transform, systems can transform, and that every action, however small, gives wings to collective change for a flourishing future in harmony with nature.
BK Maureen, Head of our Delegation, and Valeriane Bernard, have offered wonderful guidance and support throughout our preparations. The delegation feels deeply grateful for their continued presence through their love, wisdom and good wishes.
Faith-based organizations have participated as observers in this biennial conference for many years. The Brahma Kumaris have been involved since COP11 in Hyderabad in 2012. We continue to contribute actively to the Faiths for Biodiversity coalition.
