This week’s meditation is dedicated to World Cleanup Day which will be celebrated on September 20.
Hosted by UN-Habitat, the 2025 observance will focus on fashion and textile waste, highlighting the issue of waste generated by the global fashion industry. With over 92 million tons of textile waste produced annually, the theme will spotlight the urgent need to reduce, reuse, and recycle materials while promoting sustainable production and consumption practices. The campaign under the theme, Lead by Example, also highlights the issue of cigarette butt pollution, the most common type of litter collected during cleanup events, and encourages action to reduce it.
