In Championing Peace, We Can only Win TOGETHER

The NGO Committee on Spirituality, Values, and Global Concerns-NY (CSVGC–NY) held their monthly general meeting on Wednesday, June 11. This meeting was especially different as it was the first HYBRID meeting since post pandemic and was hosted by the Legion of Good Will, Chair of the Committee.

The meeting opened with a moment of silence followed by an inner reflective journey led by “Keeper of the Sacred”, Martha Gallahue, supporter of Global Oneness Day Campaign and the Spiritual Caucus at the UN. Guest speaker, BK Luciana Ferraz, Director, Brahma Kumaris Brazil, shared her insightful thoughts on the topic, highlighting three aspects of what “play” signifies:

  • it brings out the child in us – joy, innocence, pure-spirited, sharing, and friendship.
  • the journey of sports has changed over the decades. There are more high-stakes competition and pressure of ambition making “play” more stressful than it needs to be; pulling the joy of what play actually means.
  • we are all players in the drama of life. Do we know our part? How well are we playing that part?

This opened the floor for rich and meaningful conversation among those present and those online.

The meeting closed with a moment of silence and wonderful opportunities for networking while enjoying popular Brazilian snacks and beverages.
