A small but dynamic group of young people came together to plan the celebration for 2025 International Day of Youth. This group, passionate about the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), created a campaign that can empower and inspire youths in making the progress of the SDGs smoother and more enjoyable. As such, “Still for A Sec (SAS): we pause for reels, we can pause for REAL” was born!!!
A 2-month challenge giving youths an opportunity to pause for 60 seconds daily, or more than once a day, align with their inner light or goodness, slow the thinking and bring clarity and renewed energy to the self. Then allow this to guide them as they come back into action, whether towards an SDG they are passionate about or any other area of their life or even in the community.
And that’s not where it ends – they collect coins or do a kind deed every time they do a pause or still for a sec. These are then collected and given back to the community in one form or another, after two months. The result of all this will be documented and presented to the UN as a contribution for the youths to the world.
With profound collaboration, minds raced, keyboards clicked, clocks ticked, creativity was at its peak as the young people made videos, toolkits, promotional material, and graphics the SAS campaign was launched on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
